Tiffany Haddish is "genuinely happy" now that she's cut out alcohol five months after her second arrest on suspicion of DUI.
The "Haunted Mansion" actor opened up about her recent lifestyle changes, which also include celibacy, to People in an interview published Wednesday. "I'm very sober," she told the magazine, adding that "I haven't had a drink" since her November arrest.
"When I sit back and look at my life, everything that's crazy that's happened is because somebody or myself had alcohol in their system," she said. "This is my challenge to people. Stop drinking for six months and just see how your life changes."
The benefits are mental and physical, Haddish said: "You're going to have your snatched body back, you're going to see your relationships will be better and you’ll stop dealing with people you don’t need to be dealing with."
On Nov. 24, the Beverly Hills Police Department told USA TODAY that officers found Haddish early in the morning slumped over the wheel of her car while the car engine was still running. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Haddish in February pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor vehicle violation commonly known as "wet reckless," and her DUI charge was subsequently dismissed.
The actor and comedian was placed on summary probation for a year and ordered to complete 40 hours of community service, a driver's education course and a Mothers Against Drunk Driving Victim Impact Program and L.A. County’s Hospital and Morgue Program, per THR.
Before this incident, Haddish was arrested on suspicion of DUI about 40 miles outside of Atlanta after authorities received a call about a person asleep in a car.
In a previous interview with People published earlier this month, Haddish shared that she's not leaning on anyone but herself for support during this time.
"Yeah, I don't trust them. I don't trust nobody," she said. "It's been me. I've been leaning on me. I stopped leaning on other people. And I started leaning on me more.”
Tiffany Haddish opens up about abstaining from sex
Alcohol and sex often went hand in hand, and Haddish said she's opted to abstain from both.
"My issue was, I was waking up next to ugly men," she said. "With alcohol (my mind) would just be like, ‘You’re horny, let's just do it.’"
But now? "I be like 'nah, nope,'" she told People. But that doesn't mean the "Girls Trip" star has given up on dating. "I’ve been dating multiple guys," she revealed. "They all know about each other."
Between this and “eliminating a lot of people” from her life, Haddish is feeling "genuinely happy," she said.

Tiffany Haddish on how common alcohol is at industry events
Earlier this month, Haddish spoke out about the prevalence of alcohol at industry events.
"I really wish people would pay attention to this," she told People. "It's in every event, especially Hollywood events (where) they're trying to pour alcohol down your throat. ... And it's for what? Why?"
The comedian asserted she doesn’t need "liquid courage to be who I am."
She added, "I'm actually a little more reserved when I'm really intoxicated, because I'm like, ‘Oh, I'm liable to say or do anything, so let me pull back.’ But now I'm like, you know what? You going to get the business. And that's what it is."
"You remember everything, and you have more fun, and you make more friends when you're sober," she continued. "But then you make the right friends."
