Sheriff’s deputy shot and wounded in southern Kentucky

MONTICELLO, Ky. (AP) — A sheriff’s deputy in southern Kentucky was shot and wounded on Monday afternoon, officials said.
The Wayne County deputy appeared to have non-life-threatening injuries and was flown to University of Tennessee Medical Center, Wayne County Emergency Management Director Sherwin Corder said.
He said there was still an active scene where the shooting occurred that included deputies, city police and state police.
No further information was immediately released.
