More than 84 billion English Wikipedia pages were viewed this year, and the website has just released its most-viewed articles of 2023.
The Wikimedia Foundation, the nonprofit behind the free, publicly edited online encyclopedia, released the rankings Tuesday, revealing what people around the world were seeking answers to.
The numbers tell “the story of you and society at large seeking out knowledge about our ever-changing world from the world’s largest encyclopedia," according to the foundation.
“Your curiosity shows the joy of discovery,” it said. “The sadness of untimely death. The adrenaline of a cricket final. The magic of a day at the movies. The exuberance of hearing your favorite singer.”
